Go down hill on snow!

There are plenty of ways to have fun on the slopes in the Adirondack Hub! From downhill skiing and snowboarding to family sledding, you're sure to find something thrilling here.

Gore Mountain

Gore Mountain is a hidden jewel for skiers and snowboarders alike. Home to the most skiable terrain and largest lift system in New York state, its four summits and 2,537 foot vertical drop are sure to satisfy your snow cravings. It was also voted a "Top 10 Resort in the East" by readers of Ski Magazine for lifts, scenery, value, terrain variety, and access.

Close to the communities in the Adirondack Hub, Gore Mountain's downhill skiing is some of the best available in the Adirondacks. Gore Mountain features diverse terrain, multiple lifts, glade skiing, and beginner to expert trails. Gore Mountain also offers an excellent Snow Sports School with lessons for everyone, children through adults, and onsite quality childcare at the mountain is also provided. After a fun day skiing and snowboarding at Gore, head back to one of our quaint towns for a quality après ski evening at our local restaurants. With the Learn to Ski or Ride Passport program and the Kids Ski or Ride Free Passport program, kids in third and fourth grade get a lift ticket, lesson, and equipment rental for a $27 processing fee at over twenty participating ski areas, including Gore.

Gore stats

  • 110 trails
  • 14 lifts
  • 2,537 vertical feet
  • Home to the most skiable acreage in New York state
  • 6 on-mountain dining sites

Tubing is just as fun!

Hey, skiers and snowboaders don't get to have all the fun on the hills! Family sledding and tubing can also be found throughout the Adirondack Hub. At the golf course in Schroon Lake, there is a family-friendly hill where anyone can sled or tube. There is no towline, but from the top of the hills, you'll get a great view of Schroon Lake before you make your descent. Newcomb also has a free sledding hill, where families will definitely make great winter memories. If you're lucky, the Newcomb skiing hill might also be open!

Whether you make first tracks, or are the last one down at the end of the day, the skiing, riding, sledding, and tubing in the Adirondack Hub is a blissful and often exhilarating winter escape.
