Budding adventures in the Adirondack Hub!
Spring is here in the Adirondack Hub, and that means we’re full steam ahead right back into our favorite Adirondack traditions - minus some snow. When the temperatures warm up and the sun hits our faces again, there’s plenty to get started on! Sneak in some low-elevation hikes (some trails may still have some of that white stuff) enjoy the scenery as your favorite bird species flies overhead, or simply walk downtown for a cafe lunch and shopping spree.
What to do this spring
As the snow melts, you may hear a familiar roaring sound humming through the region and in our forests. No need to panic! That’s just our friendly waterfalls back from hibernation, spilling over with all that added water from the mountains. This is by far the best time to get in some pictures of your favorite falls. Speaking of roaring rapids, it wouldn’t be spring in the Adirondack Hub without some whitewater rafting! Just down the road and down the Hudson, you’ll find multiple outfitters and guides at the ready to help you plan your next group adventure through whitewater thrills. Not an adrenaline junky? The Adirondack Hub is filled with lakes and rivers calm enough for the most tame paddles, including challenges like the Schroon Paddle Challenge, taking you through winding rivers and open lakes. With so much to do, winter will become a distant memory as you get to planning your springtime getaway!
